Spring Equinox Ritual to Embrace New Beginnings

As the days grow longer and the air turns warmer, we welcome the spring equinox—a time of renewal and fresh starts. This moment marks not only the beginning of a new season but also the start of the astrological year. To honor this special time, I've crafted and wanted to share a spring equinox ritual that brings together various practices that I love to help you align with the energy of renewal and set your intentions for the months ahead.

1. Meditation

Begin your ritual by finding a quiet space to sit and meditate. Allow yourself to connect with the present moment, releasing any lingering winter energy and making space for new growth. Meditation is a powerful way to center yourself and prepare for the transformative energy of the equinox. You can meditate in many different ways: guided meditation, silent meditation, contemplative meditation, and many others! Choose what feels most authentic to you, but if you want a guided meditation, I crafted this one especially for the spring equinox:

2. Mantras & Mudras for Renewal

Incorporate mantras and mudras into your meditation. Choose a mantra that resonates with your intention for the season, and use mudras (hand gestures) to deepen your connection. These practices can help focus your mind and align your energy, enhancing the power of your intentions. I love the mantra OM, because it’s simple but so powerful, and you can feel the energy shifting almost right away. For mudra, I recommend Anjali mudra or prayer hands, and you can do it by simply placing the palms of the hands connected to each other right in front of the heart.

3. Tarot Pulling for Spring Insights

Next, pull a few tarot cards to gain insight into the themes and energies of the upcoming season. Reflect on the messages and guidance the cards offer, and consider how they align with your intentions. Tarot reading during the spring equinox can provide valuable guidance and clarity. If you are unfamiliar with tarot, you can also pull an inspirational card. I personally love these Positive Affirmations Cards for Motivation and Inspiration.

4. Journaling for Intentions

Take some time to journal about your experiences and reflections. Write down any insights from your meditation, mantras, mudras, and tarot reading. This is also a great opportunity to set clear intentions and goals for the season. Journaling helps solidify your plans and keeps you focused on your goals. If you want a little inspiration, I’m happy to share the 3 prompts that I used to do my own journaling exercise for the spring equinox:

1. Reflect on the past few months. What achievements are you proud of? What challenges did you overcome? How have you grown since the beginning of the year?
2. What do you wish to cultivate and grow in your life during this upcoming season? Consider areas like personal growth, relationships, health, career, and creativity.
3. Are there any habits or patterns you wish to release or transform as you move forward into this new phase?

Enjoy!

5. Burning the Old for New Beginnings

To fully embrace the new, we must let go of the old. Write down anything you wish to release—habits, thoughts, or patterns—and safely burn the paper. This symbolic act helps to cleanse your energy and make space for new growth. The act of burning symbolizes transformation and renewal.

6. Movement Meditation for Energy

Engage in some gentle movement to invigorate your body and spirit. Whether it's yoga, dancing, or a walk in nature, allow yourself to move freely and joyfully, connecting with the vibrant energy of spring. Movement meditation helps to circulate your energy and integrate your intentions. If you want to do some yoga to celebrate, you might want to try this class on my channel:

7. Savasana and Planting Internal Seeds

Conclude your ritual with savasana (corpse pose) to rest and integrate the practices. As you lie in stillness, visualize planting seeds of intention within yourself. Imagine these seeds growing and blossoming throughout the season. This final step helps you internalize your goals and align with the season’s energy.

This year, I've chosen the word "BE" as my guiding theme, with the seeds of "SERVE & SHARE (to multiply)" for this season.

What seeds of intention are you planting right now?

Happy Spring & Happy Beginning of the Astrological Year! 🌸💫

Sending much love,
